Post subject:  Define which image galleries are visible

Good day to you!

I'd like to please request the ability to control which image galleries are available when a user adds an image. I have thousands of products, many of which have multiple stock layouts available (30+). I certainly don't want thousands of image gallery tabs cluttering up the work space.

Thanks very much,

Scott J.

Sorry for taking so long to respond.

There are ways to control which images to show in the galleries. As you probably know, there is some connector code that sits between the image storage and the gallery UI in the web editor. You specify the URL to this connector as a Flashvar at the time that you launch the editor on your web page. But you can also specify some XML, called a gallery qualifier, in a Flashvar at the same time. This XML gets passed into the connector every time that the gallery UI is displayed. So, for example, you could pass the template name or some other data value, such as a token that represents your user's access rights. The connector can then use that data to restrict which images to show.
